Allow me to introduce myself....
Hello my little Lovelies!!!! I am Devin. I have always had the dream of using my voice to make the world a brighter place. I was raised to speak my mind and share my story in hopes that I can inspire one person.
You see…I come from a super crazy story. What if I told you that I was 1 part of 3 sets of twins? Crazy…right? What if I told you that I was adopted and my birth mother and my adoptive mother were best friends since they were 12? Even crazier?? Oh and my birth mother…yeah…she is my godmother and we are super close. [Even if she is over 700 miles away.]
I guess you have gathered by now that I am a twin. My twin brother, Ross, is my best friend on the planet. I mean we were wombmates= instant bestie. We are super close. We have only missed celebrating 2 birthdays out of 33…so far. He keeps this bold badass in check.
I tend to be a little blunt and do things and ask for forgiveness later. Like the time that I emailed our biological father in the middle of the night telling him that I wanted to meet him. Yeah…Ross had no clue. I told him what I had done the next day like I was asking him to pour me another glass of wine.
Let’s talk about the woman that inspires me to get out of bed in the morning with a smile on my face! Ok…let me be real for a second…I am in no way shape or form a morning person. I need my morning caffeine. Somehow I kicked my 2 cup of coffee morning routine and substituted it for a nice cold cup of unicorn blood.
Back to Mom. This woman is incredible. She has been an inspiration to me my whole life. She has taught me how to love myself and treat myself with respect. In turn…it has taught me how to allow others to treat me. Mom is a quadriplegic and has been in a wheelchair since 1982. She broke her neck in a car accident at the age of 21 and never let her disability define her or hold her back. She raised 3 incredible kids all by herself, worked from home, and took us to all of our activities.
When I say we kept her busy…don’t underestimate 3 kids that are 10 months apart. Oh that’s right…you guys don’t know about Jacob yet. When Mom was adopting us from her best friend…she found out she was pregnant. 10 months and 6 days later…Jacob was welcomed to the world. We kept her going in every single direction we possibly could. I will get into more of that later.
Enough about all that…here is what you can expect from me. Blunt honestly...Badass attitude…some foul language…bold actions…more of my story…and of course my adorable pup Savannah will make an appearance or 2. I am an open book. Have questions? Ask away. I want you to get as much out of this as I am!!!
Until next time….
XOXO,
Dev
